Happy Birthday Monica

Fifteen years ago a beautiful baby girl was born. I know people will say Im partial because she's my granddaughter.  BUT, she really was the cutest and the best baby I have to this day ever met or known. Monica rarely cried unless she needed a diaper change or a bottle. She was such a good baby doll, and her mama was very lucky.  I don't ever remember knowing anyone family or friends having a quiet calm baby like her.  I'd sometimes forget she was at my house because she didn't make any noise. If you played or gave her attention she would giggle & goo goo just like any other baby.
As we saw her grow we noticed that she loved books, so we always knew where to find her.....sitting by my bookcase which was full of books. It was so cute because she was so tiny, but she would stare at whatever book she had as if she was really reading. She was always looking at magazines and would pick up books wherever she was. She learned how to read very well and also did well in school.

 Monica was dedicated to the Lord when she was a little girl, been to Sunday School and heard many messages preached. When she comes to visit on a weekend  is the only times that she may go to church, but I know that the Lord has his hand on her and will protect her.

Unfortunately as in many families, her parents are no longer together. She has been thru many changes which have had a great impact in her life. Now these changes find her struggling to find where she fits in or what she should do. The life of a teen is hard enough but without the Lord its ten times harder.  I pray that one day she'll turn her life over to Him.

                                  Spring & April Showers   
Today started off with a delishus breakfast cooked by my son-in-law Dino, I love to tease him and call him my outlaw lol. My parents, husband and I enjoyed country potatoes, bacon & eggs, our choice of  flour tortillas with butter or english muffins. We sat around the table eating and talking for a nice time of fellowship. It was nice having my daughter Tiffany with us too since she has been off from work, sick with a viral infection.
After breakfast my hub and I took advantage of this gorgeous day. We went the long way every where, doing all our shopping and errands taking our time.  There is still snow on the mountain tops surrounding the IE, but the day & weather gave a hint of Spring & the April showers soon to come. I enjoy working in my gardens and I love Spring, because its a time when I see everything come to life. The trees get their leaves back, the ducks come to our pond, and we see rabbits out in the fields. Oh how wonderful my Lord is to let me see and be a part of all this beauty all around me.

Mama Knows Best

Winter has always been my favorite time of year, I love the sound of rain and  love to see snow on the mountain tops.  Thunder and lightening terrify me, but I like the sounds they make. I'll never forget seeing a bolt of lightening strike a tree making it burst into flames as we drove to New Mex one yr. Its nice to sit around our fireplace and enjoy a roaring fire to keep us warm. We put on sweaters, coats, boots and scarves, even tho its not really that cold. I wonder what it would be like to live in VA where there are blizzards? The air is chilly during the day and gets pretty cold at night. Its also time for family members or friends to get sick. Some will get colds others the flu and some like my daughter get a viral infection.
As a young girl my friends & I would walk in the rain with or without umbrellas. I can still hear my grama  telling me I was going to catch cold. I now find myself repeating my grandmothers words to ears that don't listen, & I know how she must have felt. Its all about doing something & going places where its freezing cold and windy. What pain we pay for the fun we must have! 
I'll never say "I told you so," because even tho Mama knows best I remember how much fun I used to have........

Keep your mind on Jesus

My desire is to follow Jesus and my prayer tonight is that He keep His hand on all my grandchildren and protect them with his blood.

Monica my beautiful porscellin doll, it breaks my heart to see how much you are hurting. I only wish that I could some how take away your pain and show you that there are no shortcuts to maturity.
Danelle you are and will always be my beautiful Barbie doll even with your dyed black hair.

Spring Cleaning

Spring is in the air and It was such a beautiful day, I could see myself relaxing & sitting outside under the patio reading a book or working in my gardens. Instead I decided to do some spring cleaning & attacked  my  house upside down. I try to get rid of whatever I don't need, sometimes. I don't know about anyone else but my problem is that I can't let go of a lot of things that I've had for a long time. Those clothes that  I m going to wear someday when I lose weight, or I know they will come back in style 10 yrs from now. Or all those Home Interior items I have put away because I know I can use them again when I redo my house. How could I even think of getting rid of grandma's candle holders! I started cleaning my closet yesterday wheww! what a mess, but I did throw a lot of shoes and old clothes that were stuffed way back in the corners. I can actually see what I have hanging even tho there are a few things I just couldn't part with. When I clean my bedroom I like it to smell clean & new so I buy everything starting with bedspread/comforters, drapes etc. My weary body couldn't handle any more cleaning so I decided to call it a day. Tomorrow will come soon enough and then I can start in my lil living room into my kitchenette. I won't even think about my office yet!

Happy Valentine's Day

♥♥ I wanted to do something different for Valentine's Day this year, so I surprised my hubby with a big red gift bag & card for. He was needless to say mildly shocked. I think men should receive too not just women, no one ever said it was just for the female gender. I also gave my son-in-law a red gift bag with a little something & he too was surprised....Hope everyone had a great day male or female.
