All In The Family

Martin Family

The entire family got involved in working around the plantation on Saturday.  After all the rain we've had the weeds were about 3 ft tall and the grass needed a good mowing down to the nitty gritty.   A lot of the flowers and plants needed to be thrown or transplanted.

We're having a BBQ on Memorial Day, some family members and friends will be coming by to spend the day with us.   Of course that was more reason to clean up the yard.   My granddaughter Daisy was busy cleaning inside the house doing laundry, vacuuming and dusting.   I do not understand the logic of having a clean spotless house when you invite people over!   The house is gonna end up the same way as it was before it got cleaned!

Dino Sr

Dino has to be very careful in the things he does because of his neck injury, but whenever he works around the house he  always makes the yard look very neat and trim.   He takes great care in how and what he does making sure its perfect.   He should have been a gardener among everything else that he should be lol.

Tiffany
My daughter Tiffany loves flowers, the way they smell, the beauty of all that goes into a beautiful yard.......... BUT she hates to do yard work.   She really doesn't know how to care for them either but she tries.   I can place the most beautiful bush, plant or flower in or around her house and it will die because she doesn't water it enough or at all.   lololol    She would rather pay professionals to do the yard work and landscaping, but of course she can't afford it.    Maybe she'll win the Lotto?   This property is quite large and has seven different sections all around the house that need weeding, pruning, mowing or just a quick manicure.    This is not counting the three sections on my side of the property.   lololol.

Tiffany worked very hard pulling weeds and making the over grown flower garden look very nice and neat.    At some point I must have put ornamental white rocks around a plant or flower here and there, she managed to find a lot of which had sunk down into the ground.   She did an awesome job and the flower areas look really great.

Grandpa Tata Bobby
My husband was out in the dirt field trying to cut down and pull out all the dried weeds which turn into deadly pickers.   Someone usually steps on these and they get stuck on the bottom of their shoes then walking  into the house with these same shoes (where someone like me who loves to walk barefoot will always step on one) will leave pickers on stuck on the carpet.    I never realized that a clean space with just dirt can look very nice.   Too bad weeds grow any where they please.   My hubby did an awesome job.

There was some talk about fixing the bridge going over the pond before it caves into the water when someone walks on it.   That I suppose can be put on hold for the time being, but we definitely have to put something to block the pathway.

All in all everybody did a great fantastic job around the property.   I love my gardens and enjoy being outdoors seeing the beauty of what the Lord has given us.

Crochet Is In

I just read on Woman's Day magazine that crochet and knitting are in like really big.   There are a lot of men who are picking up on this craft also.   Not only are people making clothes that are beautiful (dresses, skirts, gloves, scarves etc) but crochet is now being used as an art too.

Even though I can't create my own patterns as many talented women do, I enjoy to crochet using their patterns from the different magazines I have.   I mix different patterns to create what I envision and no one knows or can tell the difference.    Most of the time I love the end result.   I do have to LOVE you very much to crochet something very complicated or time consuming for someone.  LOL

These pictures I got from the magazine are just awesome and Im sure it took more than one person to complete this project and tons and tons of yarn.  LOL

Mexico City Bus

Cupcakes

These cupcakes would be  really great used for table arrangements, or instead of a bow on top of a gift what better than a cupcake just to be different.   Think Im gonna crochet some for my husband who has a sweet tooth and put them in a box for his birthday next month.

Spider Web Doily

What a great way to capture attention during Halloween!   Or just to catch critters that this doily might attract especially using different colors.   This too must have been oodles of thread.

Motorcycle
My word, Miss Daisy would be the talk of the IE if I were to crochet this project for her.   LOL   It is so awesome and so much work that went into this project.

Furniture

How comfortable and colorful this waiting room is.   It sure is different from any I've been in.   Who thinks of these ideas?

Piano

What an idea!   Maybe I should crochet the organ at church lololol.   I wonder what Sis Jana would say and if she would like it let alone Pastor Booker's reaction!   A small version of this picture would be an awesome gift for someone who loves to play piano.   Hhmmm thinking mmm better not start anything I know I won't finish for a long time.

Balloon Girl

I would love to crochet this project and hang it from a tall building just for laughs.   Or maybe to use at a party as decoration?   So many ideas come to mind.

Car
These are all the fun projects from people like me who like to crochet and enjoy doing it.    The good thing about crochet is that when there is a mistake we just pull on the yarn and undo away.

What a Beautiful Day

Today Is a beautiful day!   I love the weather, cloudy, overcast, drizzling, and cool.   Its wonderful for all my flowers and plants outside and the best part is I don't have to water yippee!

This kind of weather is the cause for many aches and pains.   However, some say its due to old age; you know arthritis, old joints, even so I hope it stays cool like this thru the rest of the month.      Cest' La Vie!   I must live with it lol.

I am trying to decide if I should finish my graduation project for one of the girls from church, or start a baby blanky for my nephew and his wife who are expecting a boy in August.   Also, I saw this on the internet and I really think its a good idea for my car.   It should keep the paint from fading-you think?

Crochet Car Cover

Pretty cool huh?   My mustang would look pretty in a gold or yellow color with horses here and there lol. It would probably take quite a while to crochet and lots of yarn too.

I made this cute blanket and I have decided to save it for my granddaughter Daisy's future bebe. LOL   In the event that I am not around to see her marry and have children lol.   She'll always have something to remember her old grandmother by.

Noah's Ark

Sometimes when I crochet projects like this blanket that need a lot of concentration and take a lot of time, even though it is cute and people like it I won't make another.   When I give a gift I want it to be easy and fast-pretty and cute, but not time consuming.   Most of the time I end  up not giving it to the person it was intended for and keeping it.       ~harharhar~

Until the next project Have A Blessed Day.

Graduation Day

Two days after Mothers Day, I feel better and life can go on until next month which will be worse because it is the one year anniversary of my mothers death.  Lord give me strength.

Now I have to concentrate on our Barbie girl aka Danelle.   That's my granddaughter who is going to graduate next month in June, which sounds far away but in reality its only about two weeks away.

First there's the ceremony which she has decided that she would like to have her dad my son attend.   Will wonders never cease?   I made double sure before asking him and asked her again if she still wanted him to be at her graduation.   She said yes she wants her daddy there.   I spoke to Paul today and let him know, he was really excited about the fact Barbie wants him there.   We will pick him up and be there for the ceremony  and coming home right after its over.   Barbie will go to parties or whatever she has planned.

Then there's the party which her mother has planned for a week after the graduation, she doesn't want both events on the same day.   Needless to say her daddy is not invited to this affair for known reasons.

Im excited and am helping  Silvia with the planning and decorating since Tiffany might not be there.   Im hoping that shrimp and ceviche are two of the dishes for the menu.   We have decided that buying  lots of cupcakes is a much better idea since it will avoid having to cut slices of cake and serving everyone.   This way anyone who feels like eating something sweet can get up and get their own or not........yea!

Tomorrow is mothers day, and its just another reminder that my mom is no longer here.   I don't even want to go to church  because I know that everyone around me including my daughter will be smiling and wishing each other a good day.   Is it morbid to feel this way?

In the past I would call her in the morning and gab for a while, jokingly telling her that she was my mom everyday so why the big deal lol.   We always went after church to visit and either she made something to eat or I would buy something.   I can't believe that I actually missed a few mothers days because of lame excuses.  We never know what the future holds and like me its too late.

Mom,
I think of you every day and I miss you more than ever.
So Im writing this today because I know that tomorrow will be too hard to deal with and I wanted you to know that you'll never be forgotten.
I love you Mom,
Your daughter  Margaret (Mage')
